Student-Athletes & Mental Well-being

University life in Canada can be a challenging experience. For student-athletes, there is an additional level of pressure that can impact their mental health.

My multimedia project, The Inner Game, seeks to change this by fostering open conversations and destigmatizing mental well-being for student-athletes. By profiling their stories, this project aims to highlight both the challenges they face and the resources and supports available to them. This site may be helpful for student-athletes, coaches, parents and anyone invested in their success!

About Me

I am a first-year student-athlete at Thompson Rivers University and play on the WolfPack women’s volleyball team. As an athlete, I am interested in mental well-being, and particularly amongst student athletes. This website serves as my space to explore this topic, merging my love for sports while sharing insights on innovative ways we can use media to express ourselves and tell our stories.

There is no normal life
that is free of pain.
It’s the very wrestling with our problems that can be the impetus for our growth.”
